When experiencing a medical emergency on board while being on a passage and out of reach of shorebased rescue services, a little First Aid knowledge and being able to take immediate action can save lives.
This one-day course is designed to provide a working knowledge of First Aid for skippers and crew of yachts and power boats.
Next to this being a ‘life-saving’ course, which is highly recommended to any crew member, it also fulfils the requirements for anyone aiming at obtaining the RYA Yachtmaster certificate.
This course is available at our RYA Training Centre locations in the Netherlands and in Belgium.
Course content
The RYA First Aid course is a one-day course covering the most essential First Aid subjects from a yachting perspective. It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on offshore passages.
The course contains amongst other the following topics:
Ability after the course
At successful completion of the course, you will receive the RYA First Aid Certificate. The certificate is valid for 3 years, after which you can revalidate it by simply completing this one-day course again.
